I was thrilled to take photos of my long time friend and her gorgeous family while I was in Chicago a few weeks ago. Linzey and I have known each other since we were in middle school and I just love her sweet family, and it was so fun to see them again! I am so excited that our schedules and the weather worked out so wonderfully! The temps were around 75 degrees that day!! Perfect, I tell you!! Their two little girls are just the cutest!! You might be able to tell that one of the girls was a bit shy in the beginning of our session, which I think is completely adorable. This is one of my favorite parts of my job, getting shy kids to open up to me. I always follow the kids lead during a session, sometimes they need a little time and space to adjust to a giant camera pointed at them. Other kids ham it up for me the second I get my camera out! I love getting to capture each unique personality and of course, capturing that smile when they do open up! The last time I saw their youngest daughter, she was just a few days old, and now she is practically walking! It was such fun to see the transformation from infant to toddler! I love her sweet and somewhat nonchalant expressions during our session, she’s like “yeah I’m standing, so what?!” She was crawling around in the grass, blowing raspberries with her big sister and exploring the world as only a ten month old can: by sticking everything in her mouth! So adorable! Can you believe this gorgeous location? Chicago is one of my favorite places to visit and when we were planning this session, I immediately fell in love with the idea of the city skyline as the background. While I’ve never photographed here before, I loved getting that spark of creativity that comes with shooting in a new location. I think this might be one of my favorite locations of all time, I just wish it was about 4 hours closer to me!
Linzey and I are that special kind of friends that you could not see for a few months or a few years and when we get together again, its like only a moment has passed! It was so wonderful to catch up with her and her family during our brief visit. Thank you for letting me capture these images of you and your precious girls! I can't wait to see you guys again!
